An envelope built for weather

The shell is a ventilated rainscreen over a sealed inner cabin — the same principle as a facade, at cabin scale. Water that gets past the cladding drains and dries instead of sitting in the insulation.

Installation requirements

What the room has to provide

Published so your architect, electrician and contractor can plan around it — before the walls close.

Electrical: Weatherproof isolator within 2 m; supply routed below slab where possible.
Clearances: 600 mm to any boundary wall for maintenance access.
Ventilation: Rainscreen cavity ventilated top and bottom; do not seal.
Room build: Level concrete slab or steel frame rated for 400 kg/m².
Drainage: Surface fall away from the cabin on all four sides.

Wind loading is checked per site — exposed ridge locations may need anchor fixings.
