Sizing a generator is straightforward: match the output to the room volume and the surface finish. Keeping it alive in Nepal is the harder problem, and it comes down to water.
Every generator we supply is quoted with its treatment, its drain and its service interval, because a generator without those three is a replacement waiting to happen.

What actually decides it
- 01
Auto-drain is the feature that matters
Draining and flushing the tank after every session is what turns descaling from a rebuild into an hour of work.
- 02
Plant rooms get hot
A generator in an unventilated cupboard will trip on high ambient. Plan the ventilation with the location.
- 03
Steam head placement
At least 200 mm above floor level and away from the seat. It is a comfort and a safety detail, and it is fixed in the drawing, not on site.

Questions
- Do we need a water softener?
- In the Kathmandu valley, almost always. Untreated supply here scales a generator within a season.
- What size generator for a 10 m³ steam room?
- A 9 kW unit covers 8–12 m³ with a tiled finish. Natural stone absorbs more and pushes you up a size.
- Can you service a generator we already have?
- Yes, after an inspection. If it is not worth maintaining we will say so and quote the replacement instead.
